Somalia: Puntland President appoints his son as media advisor

MOGADISHU (Mareeg)—The president of Puntland semiautonomous region in north eastern Somalia has appointed his son as media advisor.Mohamed Abdirahman Farole, was named as the media advisor of Puntland President Abdirahman Farole on Sunday.A statement from the president’s office said Mohamed was appointed as media advisor after the president needed a consultant of the independent media.Mohamed Abdirahman Farole is the manager of Radio Garowe and the website of Garowe Online owned by Puntland President Abdirahman Farole.Reporters in Puntland said they will see how the new media advisor will help them protect from the harassments and intimidations by the security guards of Puntland President Abdirahman Farole whenever they try to get news from the presidential palace.Mareeg Online
